I Had a Dream...
I had an awesome dream. Not awesome, in that Lionel Richie way, but very vivid. I remember dreams, but rarely in this much detail. So here goes:
I was at a Coldplay concert with my friend JV. They had just performed their final song, "Fix You", just like in real life. We then went next door to some large banquet hall with a stage at the end. There were refreshments on a table, and as I reached for some I was informed that I had to leave because this was a private function. At that moment, JV left my side and went up on stage went several other people and started doing some sort of interpretative dance about burros.
Segue to me sitting at home watching a television documentary about burros. According to this nature program, burros have an extremely difficult time crossing both streets and bodies of water, like creeks and streams. It can take them hours. It showed a video of a burro having an awful time trying to get across a highway. Once across, the burro will lose its front two teeth, which it then will stomp into the ground, marking the spot of the crossing and serving as a signal for any future burro that might come that way.
As I watched television, I noticed that my home was in some old apartment building with rusty, molded, paint-peeled walls. I made a mental note to repaint. Also, out of my peripheral vision, I thought I saw someone in the kitchen. I knew I was alone so that couldn't be true, but the third time I caught movement I went in to investigate.
I went into the kitchen (which in hindsight reminds me of the kitchen in my NYC apartment) and noticed for the first time a huge iron door just beyond the refrigerator that had never been there before. This door was slightly ajar, and beyond was a dark, ominous-looking hallway. Just as I was headed out into the hall to explore I saw a shadow of a man pointing a gun in my direction. This freaked me out enough to wake myself up.
Discuss.
