Post-Call Hike

For a call weekend, last weekend was unusually good. Especially Sunday, which was a fantastic day. The good times lasted right on into Monday, which, being a post-call day, automatically sent it half-way to greatness. I had planned to do a Big Run on Monday in preparation for the upcoming marathon, but the weather was too darn perfect. So instead I headed out to Beaman Park, which is up in the hills in far northwestern Davidson County. This is a beautiful park-Warner without the crowds. It is very quiet and peaceful; it is like you are a hundred miles from the big city.
I spent the afternoon hiking, doing over ten miles in all, which was almost compensation for skipping the Big Run. I also took a few pictures to throw in the Flickr, and as a bonus received my first sunburn of the young season. Someday I'll remember to wear a hat.
